If you've ever been camping and had to build a fire to keep it
going, you know firsthand that fires require a constant supply of wood.
Otherwise they simply burn our. It is the very nature of fire to consume
whatever is fueling it so that it always needs more. Conflict is often
compared to fire in the Bible.  And just like a fire, conflict requires
constant feeding.
It may not feel like YOU are the one feeding it, but Proverbs tells
us that there is a way to hold back on our part from allowing a conflict
to rage on.  Let's look at the wisdom Proverbs has for addressing those
who are angry, hurtful, and hot-tempered. And let's ask ourselves if
God is showing us a way to pour water on the fires in our lives instead
of adding fuel to them.
