God is Love. Out of His great love for us, He endured the cross.So if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another with this type of love.It is this love that marks us as believers, and shows the world that we belong to Jesus.“A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another. By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.”John 13: 34-35Self is not the standard of love, Christ is.How we love ourselves changes on what we’re willing and able to live up to on a daily basis, which is always short. That’s why self is not the standard of love, only Christ is.It is this Christ exemplified Love that we are commanded to show one another.
