One of our favorite times at the show is when our Highway loops back to revisit talented artists we’ve met before. Today, in studio for their third time, we have Jon Peter Lewis and Ryan Hayes of the folk duo Midas Whale with new music from their debut album: Sugar House.  The albums’ “a sonic adventure through the American West” a blend of rough and dirty sounds of early rock music with the pure bright harmonies of folk music. And since both Jon and Ryan are songwriters the tracks are all original. 

In this episode Tim Slover delves into the latest Midas Whale happenings including (but not limited too): their album, their secret society, making music videos while sick, directing puppet shows, taking their rock opera to the moon, and wielding accordions like Stratocasters. Stuart Maxfield (of the band Fictionist) also joins the discussion as producer for Midas Whale’s album
