Listen "How I Define Auditory Processing Disorder/ My Story"

Episode Synopsis

In today’s episode, I’m opening up about my personal journey with auditory processing disorder (APD). Even though I was diagnosed at a young age, I didn’t fully understand what that meant until adulthood. For years, I just thought I was "bad at listening" or missing things everyone else seemed to catch. Navigating school, conversations, and social situations felt like decoding a language no one else realized I was struggling to understand. This episode is the start of something I wish I had growing up — a space to talk openly about what it’s like living with APD. I’ll share how it’s impacted my learning, relationships, and self-confidence, and why I’m so excited to finally create a podcast dedicated to this topic. In upcoming episodes, you can expect expert advice, practical coping tools, and honest stories from others who "hear between the words" too. My hope is that this becomes a supportive, empowering community for anyone affected by APD — whether you’re newly diagnosed, undiagnosed, or simply curious.  I chat about:💚Common misconceptions 🧏🏻‍♀️ Growing up with APD🧠 Being diagnosed, re-diagnosed and how that felt 🎙️Why this podcast? 👂🏻🧠👂🏻🧠👂🏻🧠👂🏻🧠👂🏻🧠👂🏻🧠👂🏻🧠👂🏻🧠👂🏻🧠👂🏻🧠👂🏻🧠👂🏻🧠👂🏻🧠👂🏻🧠👂🏻🧠 🎧 Big shoutout to the amazing Bethany over at Crackers In Soup for our podcast intro — it’s giving everything it needs to give! 📱 Wanna keep the conversation going?
