Episode Synopsis

Your Heard Tell for Wednesday, April 20th, 2022, is turning down the noise and getting to the information we need on the "MAGA caucus" of congress consisting of Marjorie Taylor Greene, Lauren Boebert, Matt Gaetz, and Madison Cawthorn seeing their fundraising numbers dip, but three of the four might be all but untouchable in the coming elections, our friend Eric Garcia reports the fourth is in real trouble. Our guest Brent Orrell of the American Enterprise Institute has been researching and writing about the missing male demographic from the workforce. Specifically, non-college educated white men are showing as a trend in missing from the workforce, and increasingly on social assistance. Brent digs into the why, what the data says, and what the social and cultural factors and implications are. Also, Brent compares/contrasts how men on social assistance are treated much differently than the "welfare queens" rhetoric of the 90's welfare reform, and better terminology and ways to talk about the issue. Plus, questions and concerns over the health of Senator Dianne Feinstein once again has folks talking about term limits, but should we have a mandatory retirement age for national office instead? We also cover the story of the USS The Sullivans, which is in line for some desperately needed financial help to save the ship even while Russian bot farms and propaganda use the old museum ship as "American warship sunk."
