Curious about fasting? I've tried to study it at times, but found it really hard to find real-life details of what I should expect or how to do it. I remember I was feeling pulled to fast for a long period. I was curious about what I should expect and had so many questions. I asked all of my close Christian friends, but was kinda surprised to find out they had no clue what I should expect because they had never experienced it nor known anyone who did. So, I did the best with what knowledge I had and let the Lord lead the way. In today's podcast episode, I discuss all the things that I experienced and how I turned fasting into a weekly discipline. If you're thinking about fasting, I strongly recommend researching it and praying before you ever begin. If you aren't used to discerning God's voice, here's an example of how to pray and just believe by faith that He heard you and He will shut the door if he needs to. Pray this with me if this is resonating: "Father, I want to fast so that, {and you would mention your "why" … maybe it's so that I would quit reaching for temporary pleasures to meet my needs.} I want you to meet my needs. And {here's my how} I feel like I should fast by not eating any food for one day. That's my plan unless you show me otherwise, In Jesus name, amen."
