Listen "St. Paul VI Parish Mass: September 28, 2025"
Episode Synopsis
Today is September 28, 2025, the 26th Sunday in Ordinary Time. Our celebrant was Fr. Lee Hellwig. This week, Father Hellwig challenged us to reflect on the dangers of complacency in our faith. From Amos’ warning to those “complacent in Zion” to Jesus’ parable of the rich man and Lazarus, we were reminded that the greatest sin is often not what we do, but what we fail to do. The rich man’s downfall came from ignoring Lazarus at his very gate.St. Paul urges us to “fight the good fight of faith” - to actively pursue righteousness, devotion, and love. Father Hellwig reminded us that true faith isn’t passive; it requires action, compassion, and responsibility. Each of us is called to respond to the needs around us, not waiting for others or larger systems to step in. Faith comes alive when we move beyond words and into loving action. Let us not be complacent, but courageous and compassionate, serving those nearest to us.Permission to stream the music in this service obtained from ONE LICENSE with license # A-735133.
