We have freedom in Christ!
The Bible has a lot to say about freedom. Israel had been slaves in Egypt for 400 years and God delivered them by breaking the yoke of their oppressors. God had told them after this amazing deliverance to obey His commandments but if they refused, they would be taken away back into captivity. Sadly this had happened several times in Israel's history. Paul uses the picture of a yoke to symbolise bondage. Farmers use yokes to control oxen because they would never willingly serve if they were free. 
Galatians 5 In [this] freedom Christ has made us free [and completely liberated us]; stand fast then, and do not be hampered and held ensnared and submit again to a yoke of slavery [which you have once put off].
