In the post pandemic world we are experiencing worker shortages, soaring gas prices, and supply chain kinks which, together, invariably create the dreaded market force: Inflation. While the word means economic chaos, it originates from something far less sinister: putting air inside something. We have inflated tires, floaties, mattresses, bounce castles, life-rafts, and egos long before the FED inflated the dollar. The terrifying part is when it pops. An inflation in the market might create an investment bubble, which is devastating to the global economy, sure. But an overinflated balloon will pop right in your face.
