Listen "Why are You Chasing Yourself?"
Episode Synopsis
Generally, the urgent receives more attention than the important, and there is nothing particularly wrong with that; we must take care of what's bothering us right now. Still, there is always something else beyond the current issue. It is a fact that every unwanted habit or pattern is rooted in childhood trauma, and to find the way back to ourselves, we must revisit what hurt us in the past and find a way to make peace with it. The inspiration for today's episode came from a totally unexpected source; someone asked me a question that triggered a whole new way of looking at disconnection with the self and the feeling of losing track of who we are. I invite you to search and explore the origin of your pain and the past experiences that trigger the behaviors or habits you want to get rid of. I offer some of the golden nuggets my mentor shared with me about pain and its origin and the best way to get rid of it. We also learn how to deal with trauma using the SURE acronym, my approach to finding the way back to ourselves, and the three questions that will make that challenging task more accessible.
