Just as we must avoid the temptation to become dependent on works to maintain our right standing with the Father, we must also resist the urge to continue viewing ourselves as the “poor old sinners” we once were. Both are bondage. To come up higher into the plan God has for our lives, we must know - and be willing to receive as fully ours - who we are and what we have in Christ.
