The human brain and heart is wired for love, created for attachment and affection at its most basic level. God made us with the ability to desire closeness and acceptance. Sadly, many of us experience failures in this quest for satisfaction and turn to things like sex, money, careers, food, or even substance abuse to fill the longings of our heart that only God can meet. We've turned His good gifts into the ends in and of themselves that we convince ourselves will quench our inner thirst for contentment and peace, missing out on the real and true gift God wants to offer us: the gift of Himself. This episode explains why, if you keep drawing from the wells of human relationships, financial gain, worldly success, and the like, you'll continually keep coming up empty. But if you draw from the well of salvation and come to find your rest in the arms of the Giver of life abundant, you will never thirst again.
