He helped the poor and was a protector of the fatherless. He was respected by the elders and was sought out for his wisdom and counsel. However, now that he is suffering, he feels forsaken and forgotten by God. He wonders why God has allowed him to suffer and be humiliated. He longs for the days when he was able to help others and make a difference in the world.
