Taste of Tea follows the lives of the members of the Haruno family. The eight-year old Sachiko is struggling with a giant version of herself watching over her as she goes about her life and is trying to figure out a way to get rid of it. Hajime's crush recently moved away from the town and he finds himself infatuated with another girl who arrives to the school he goes to. Yoshiko is a housewife who is looking to start her career in animation again, while her husband Nobuo is a hypnotherapist. Akira is the grandfather who helps Yoshiko with her animations while uncle Ayano recently returns to the town to make amends with a past friend.
