Episode Synopsis
AEW and NXT are looking to enter the new year with a bang as both brands built to special episodes featuring multiple championship matches. Host Adam Silverstein begins Getting Over's final show of 2021 with a look at AEW New Year's Smash [2:55] as the branded edition of Dynamite featured important promos from MJF and CM Punk, a TBS tournament semifinal and the start of an interesting storyline between Adam Cole, Kyle O'Reilly, Bobby Fish and the Young Bucks. This as AEW built toward its debut on TBS. "The Silver King" then looks at a go-home NXT episode ahead of the brand's signature New Year's Evil show to kick off 2022 [25:05]. Most notable are Riddle, WALTER and AJ Styles all being featured as Grayson Waller continued to shine, Malcom Bivens again proved to be stellar on the mic and Io Shirai and Kay Lee Ray got inserted into the main event.
