Interestingly, just about every one is afraid of the dark.  There are varying degrees of this, but generally, people are quick to turn on the lights in order to dispel the darkness because they fear what might be in the dark alongside them!  Perhaps that’s why the Lord was so bent on telling us that He is the light!  And, of course, He did so because He is light, the God who is light!  1 John 1:5-10 reminds us of Jesus' status as the God of light and reminds us that through Him, He keeps us out of the darkness of living in sin, death, and the power of the devil!  Today, we’ll remember Jesus is Light!
