"Hope in the Annointed"Luke 4:14-21

This week, we begin our Advent journey that leads us toward Christmas in a series titled, "Good News of Great Joy." Advent is a word that means "arrival" and signals a season of waiting for the promised Messiah, Jesus. We will be using Jesus' announcement of his public ministry found in Luke 4:18-19, when he quotes from Isaiah 61. This week, we focus on the opening words of hope which point us to Jesus' identity as the anointed one. We will explore what this meant and what it continues to mean for us today.
