The most important point that the Culture has missed is that neither "Progress" nor "Tradition" actually hold any meaningful value. These are simply man made ideas and will always fail to fulfill the yearning of the human experience.We see this here in the Trad Wife issue: Traditional Gender Roles are God ordained, but without God, the tropes surrounding Gender Roles simply harken back to a more morally backward society (see 1950s misogyny and Civil Rights violations). "Progressive" sensibilities, or lack thereof, are detached from all biology, logic, and morality. Without God, "Tradition" is nothing.
