Slotherhouse is a 2023 comedy horror film directed by Matthew Goodhue. It was released on August 30, 2023 to mixed reviews. Emily Young adopts a pet three-toed sloth named Alpha with the goal of using it to gain votes to become head of the Sigma Lambda Theta (SLTH) sorority. The pet is loved by all until it begins to kill the sorority girls one by one. The girls must survive and escape the sloth before they die.

The concept for Slotherhouse originated when the film's co-writer, Bradley Fowler, tried to come up with the "dumbest idea" he could think of. Cady Lanigan described the concept as "like Mean Girls meets Happy Death Day with a touch of Gremlins". Lanigan stated that the film was inspired by classic horror films and their use of practical effects.
