Listen "Waiting Well (1)"
Episode Synopsis
When you think about it, life involves a lot of waiting. Whether it's waiting at the traffic lights or waiting on God for a miracle, like it or not, we spend a lot of time waiting. So, question then … how well do you wait? Yeah, an awkward question. How well do I wait? The answer, all too often, is … not that well. You're up next at the supermarket checkout. You chose this queue because the woman ahead of you doesn't have many items, but then … one of her items isn't in their system. Price check. Really? Meanwhile the next checkout opens up and someone waltzes straight in and gets served. Don't you just love it? Of course, that's trivial in the scheme of things. What about that person on their second round of chemotherapy waiting for their results? Or the grandfather who's had to go to court with his wayward grandson who's estranged from his parents. It can be tough, so how do you wait well; with patience, with peace, with quiet assurance, come what may? Lamentations 3:25-26 The LORD is good to those who wait for him. He is good to those who look for him. It is good to wait quietly for the LORD to save them. All too often we're waiting on some answer, some result out there, instead of waiting for God. And let me tell you, everything changes when instead, you wait for God, because … He is good to those who look for him. It is good to wait quietly for the LORD to save you. That's His Word. Fresh … for you … today.
