By the mid 1980's The Transformers were a cultural powerhouse. The toys were flying off the shelves, kids were rushing home from school to watch the cartoon, and the promise of a feature length movie was on the horizon. Once the kids settled in to watch their hero Optimus Prime battle Megatron and his Decepticons hopes were high.
