Whether it's a conversation with an AI interface like ChatGPT or a computer-generated video telling us the news, recent leaps in artificial intelligence have given humans new powers of creativity. But with it comes new risks, particularly when it comes to "deepfakes," defined as synthetic media that have been digitally manipulated to replace one person's likeness convincingly with that of another. Joining the show to discuss is former Google CEO and Chairman Eric Schmidt, who tells Julia it's increasingly difficult to determine whether what we see can be trusted.
