For many of us who grew up going to church we have a basic understanding of what a worshiping community looks like within the walls of a local church; however, today we will be taking a look at how the elements of worship we share in a church building can be translated into worshiping spaces in a variety of locations such as a park, a coffee shop, an athletics field, and even a dinner table.  But, wherever we do Church, there are four consistent elements of relationship. Relationships in church are formed, up, in, out, and of. Our relationship “up” is formed with God, our relationships in is formed with our local community of believers. Our relationship out is with those around us who are in need and those who do not yet know God. Our relationships ‘of’ are our connections with the entire Body of Christ across the word. These four directions of relationships are what we are going to talk about and reflect on today, so that we might be mindful of how we could be the church wherever God calls us to be.
