Paul is able to heal people just with the fabric from clothes he had worn but when the seven sons of Sceva try to use the name of Jesus, they are whipped by a man with a demon. Are you just trying to use Jesus as a source of power but not as your Master and Savior? We are meant to bring Jesus into our hearts so that we can know Him as our Lord, our Master, our Creator. He rules in us so that we may do His will, not the other way around. Later in the verses, we hear about a man named Demetrius who decides he wants to protect his business of selling relics and idols rather than follow Jesus. Is your business, your money, your well being more important than following Jesus? Nothing should be more important than following Jesus.
