In early dating, most men really do try to be straight with women.
The problem is, we often don’t want to hear it!
In early conversations and/or on a first date, a man will often try to tell you things that he thinks you might have a problem with so that you won’t move forward if it’s a deal-breaker for you.
So lean in and listen hard when he says things like:
-I’m not looking for anything serious right now.
-I’m really busy with {fill in the blank, but it won’t be you!}
-I’m kind of a {whatever the problem is} you’ll think he’s joking, but he isn’t!
-My last girlfriend hated it that I…
-I do this thing (and I fully intend to keep right on doing it!)
If you have a problem with any of these things, it’s best to find someone else.
He’s not planning to change any of these things and he’ll resent you if you try to change him.
So perk up your ears during those early conversations and save yourself some time and heartache.
