Hebrews 2 starts with a warning: pay close attention to what you have heard. It is because the author knows our propensity to forget. We need to be reminded of the truths of the gospel every day. We need to remember the truth of why Jesus came here in the first place and what a miracle His birth really was. He suffered and intervened on our behalf, making propitiation for our sins and running to our aide when we could not save ourselves.
