Personal Application Questions:
1. Read Luke 10:25–37 about the parable of the Good Samaritan. Jesus reveals the heart behind the question, “Who is my neighbor?” Instead, the real question we should be asking is, “How am I a good neighbor to others?” What are your thoughts when you attempt to obey the commandment to love your neighbor?
2. How do you typically feel or react when you witness sin in this world (especially sins committed against you)?
3. How does the gospel equip us to hate sin but still have compassion and love for sinners?
4. Does Jesus’ standard of perfection scare you? Pray to God and be thankful that Jesus lived a perfectly righteous life so that you are free to pursue your Father not by the works of your own hands but by Christ’s.
