Christians are called by God not to be conformed to the ways of the world. But that doesn’t mean we can simply cocoon ourselves from the world’s influence and be OK. In the natural way of thinking, our minds are already corrupted. So, we need to have our minds transformed by the gospel.

As we allow the gospel of Jesus Christ (the ‘mercies of God’) to change the thinking of our hearts, it will dramatically transform the way we live with one another, as well as the way we respond to the world around us. What does that look like? That is what Romans 12 is all about.
