In this episode, I talk about veggie plant sources and how I like to use them. Black beans, chickpeas, mushrooms, jack fruit, lentils, and eggplant. Further great sources are brown rice, quinoa, and cheese! (Yay, cheese!)
For so many reasons, our bodies NEED protein. Period. How you supply them to your body is up to you—veggies or animal protein. Your body will thank you either way. As with most things, variety is the best way to give your body a balanced set of vitamins and minerals. // Join my email list to get an unexpected add in to one of your fave dips and a recipe for veggie meatballs too.
No matter where you choose to get your protein from, make sure to get the best quality that fits in your budget. Getting all or most of your protein from natural, real sources is the best way to fuel. Consider supplements to be just that, supplements.
And, you are what you eat. But, you are also what you eat eats. So. Yes, organic, grass-fed, and pastured are all things that are worth the few extra dollars. Check with local growers. Consider doing a CSA box or even a quality subscription like Butcher Box.
