In front of over 18,000 fans St. John's made Madison Square Garden feels like the 80s again. Red was seen to the roof, and St. John's thanks to defense and RJ Luis Jr. made sure to send their fans home happy. It was a tough game that featured a red hot Villanova team and the nation's leading scorer, but St. John's held him at bay with double teams. For St. John's they battled their own adversity finding a way to come back from a deficit in the 2nd half without Deivon Smith who had a shoulder injury.
