Listen "Bonus Podcast: Eeew, Catfish! Gross! Now, Hold On A Minute!"
Episode Synopsis
Remember the invasive snakeheads? Remember how delicious they were? The Bay has a new problem with Blue Catfish and the Annapolis Maritime Museum is doing something about it on May 3rd with some education and some food! The Inaugural Chesapeake Catfish Cookoff is bringing the community together to understand why they are so bad for the Bay, how bad the problem is, and how we can take steps to help. Granted, they are baby steps, but each step helps! Come out for an afternoon full of education, music, cooking demonstrations, and delicious samples from eight area restaurants and renowned chefs! You can have time to visit with a waterman who fishes for catfish and let him explain the problem. This is NOT what you typically think of catfish--trust me! We hopped over to Eastport and planted ourselves in the Barge House at the Annapolis Maritime Museum to speak with Alice Estrada, the CEO and President of the Annapolis Maritime Museum & Park; and Jay Fleming, Bay photographer extraordinaire and part-time waterman to get a preview of the event and to discuss the issue and what we can do to help. This is a space-limited event and tickets will sell out. First, have a listen. And then get your tickets right now--right here!
