As we begin this last section of verses 11-22, we are governed by the idea that believers need to understand the mysterious design of the Church. First, in vv. 11-12 we saw that there was a problem in the past. Then, in vv. 13-17 we saw that there is peace in the present. Now, in vv. 18-22 we see that there is a promise in the present as well. We look at the first two aspects of that promise in this episode: 1) that we have access to the Father and 2) that those who are a part of the Church are no less than Israel was in the days of the OT.
