Listen "Tweaking God: The Danger of Doing It Our Way EP. 240"
Episode Synopsis
Tweak God: The Danger of Doing It Our Way. In this episode, I tackle a tough but essential question: Does the end justify the means? Using biblical accounts from Abraham and Sarah’s plan with Hagar to Moses striking the rock, the Tower of Babel, and the tragedy of Nadab and Abihu, we unpack the dangers of tweaking God’s commands for the sake of expedience, emotion, or modern relevance. It’s easy to rationalize disobedience when things “work out,” but does God see it that way? The answer is a sobering no.God isn’t impressed with our programs, personalities, or polished presentations, He wants obedience. And not just obedience when it's easy or convenient, but especially when our human logic says, “There’s got to be a better way.” In this episode, I urge listeners to resist the cultural tide that celebrates relevance over reverence. This is about more than tradition, it’s about holiness, trust, and a willingness to do God’s will, God’s way.Whether you’re wrestling with church trends, your role in ministry, or tough personal decisions, this message is a challenge to build a “book, chapter, and verse” foundation in every part of life. Because no matter how good the goal looks, if we abandon God’s path to get there, we’re just building our own Babel.
