Listen "Own It, Totally Own It. EP 171"
Episode Synopsis
Today, we dive deep into the Word and explore how we can live out our faith with integrity and purpose. Today, we're going to start with a verse from 2 Corinthians 5:10. Paul writes, "For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each one may receive what is due for what he has done in the body, whether good or evil." Now, I know many of you are familiar with this verse. You've heard it countless times, perhaps even memorized it in different versions. But I want to challenge you to see it again for the first time.
You see, when we become too familiar with something, it can lose its impact. It becomes like the teacher in the Charlie Brown cartoons, just a series of "wah wah wah" sounds. But what Paul is telling us here is profound. The way we live our lives, our deeds, choices, decisions, actions, and words, all these set the stage for our judgment. We are deciding today, by the choices we make, whether our judgment day will be a day of celebration or a day of regret.
Jesus said, "But I tell you that everyone will have to give account on the day of judgment for every empty word they have spoken." So, it's not just our actions but also our
words that matter. James 4:17 reminds us, "If anyone, then, knows the good they ought to do and doesn't do it,
it is sin for them." This accountability, this responsibility, is serious. We are setting up our eternity.
Stay with me as we delve deeper into this topic and explore how we can live lives that honor God and
prepare us for that glorious day.
