Listen "Anti-Racism is Public Health - Cutting Neighborhoods with A Highway "
Episode Synopsis
"There's a reason you don't see factories in Beverly Hills." Highways are not great. They are load, they are heat traps, they take up a lot of space, and living near one negatively impacts your health. Where we placed these huge highways were not done equitably. Discriminatory policies and infrastructure meant these highways targeted certain neighborhoods to destroy. A podcast about public health must discuss racism, because racism is a public health issue.
