Listen "Code Adam: Missing"
Episode Synopsis
In 1981, six-year-old Adam Walsh was abducted from a Florida department store. Two weeks later, he was found murdered. His tragic story led to sweeping changes in child safety protocols across the country. In his memory, the program “Code Adam” was developed by Walmart and later adopted nationwide. It’s now one of the most widely recognized alert systems in the U.S., used in retail stores, government buildings, and public spaces to respond when a child goes missing.Every missing child deserves to be found—and they deserve to be remembered. But this is the story of another Adam.
