Is it possible that we learnt it the wrong way. Could it be that what we use to measure our self worth is corrupted. I have heard many people being asked what is your value and their first answer is their material wealth. More often it is the achievements  they have been able to make. The Degree, big house, PhD and the amount of money they have.
