Sunday morning’s message comes from Isaiah 61—the same passage Jesus used to announce His ministry: “The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because He has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor and to bind up the brokenhearted.” The Hebrew word for “brokenhearted,” Leb Shabar, paints a vivid picture of something shattered or crushed to pieces. We all know what that feels like—through loss, guilt, broken relationships, or pain that seems beyond repair. Yet the good news is this: God sent His Son to heal and restore what is broken.
