Binary MLM plan is the most common and popular compensation plan in direct sales business. In a binary plan, there is left and right legs. That is also called as weaker leg and pay leg. Compensation is based on the weaker leg, thus promoting growth across both sides. Among the unique features are spillover, where new distributors is placed under a leg after the two legs have filled. The advantages of binary compensation plan include easy publicity, quick weekly returns. Disadvantages of this plan are no turnover for a weaker leg and if the balance between the stronger leg and weaker leg is not maintained, the distributors in the weaker leg do not remain active which eventually result in the distributors in the stronger leg to quit.
