Listen "Real Talk with Henry Lane - Thorgills, it's more than a property business - Season 9 Episode 8"
Episode Synopsis
After studying for a degree in modern languages I trained to teach and spent four happy years at a comprehensive secondary school in Fulham. In pursuit of a long-held ambition, I then became an estate agent in Hammersmith and couldn’t believe my luck that I was being paid to do something I loved.
When my two children were born I wanted to spend more time at home and at Thorgills I was able to move into a role that used my local knowledge and love of working with people whilst also being able to work at a reasonable time and have my weekends back! I studied at a local college in the evenings to gain a degree-level qualification in Human Resource Management to take on more business management responsibilities, and now in my current role of People and Compliance my working day is varied, engaging and ensures I don’t sit still for long. I’m a huge fan of Brentford as an area and have really enjoyed exploring the area and reading up on its social history.
Through my work at Thorgills, I have built relationships with many local businesses, community groups and people, all of whom make me like Brentford even more.
I like cycling, finding new parks to explore with my family, and cultivating our jungle of house plants. I also have a keen interest in 20th-century interiors and architecture, which I also enjoy drawing.
