Welcome to Day 11 of Hope Has Come. Today we contemplate the astonishing humility of Christ's birth - how the King of Kings entered our world in the most lowly of circumstances. Our scripture today comes from Luke 2:6-7: "While they were there, the time came for the baby to be born, and she gave birth to her firstborn, a son. She wrapped him in cloths and placed him in a manger, because there was no guest room available for them." The simplicity of these words masks their profound significance. The long-awaited Messiah, the eternal Word of God, entered our world not in a palace but in a stable. His first cradle was a feeding trough. His first blanket was simple swaddling cloth. The King of glory chose to arrive in absolute humility.
