Listen "Grounded in Experience - Conversation with Pratima Gurung"
Episode Synopsis
In this episode, I chat with Pratima Gurung, the General Secretary for the Indigenous Persons with Disabilities Global Network, and the President of the National Indigenous Disabled Women Association of Nepal. Pratima speaks to how climate change is impacting people with disabilities in Nepal, including specific impacts facing Indigenous communities, and the ongoing impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic. Among many issues, we discuss the importance of an intersectional approach, ensuring that people with disabilities know their rights, and the importance of doing research and gathering data that can lay the groundwork for evidence-based advocacy.
