Grant Miller, Bike Works talks about all the trail cutting they are doing in Kaloko on the Big Island. Anyone can participate. the photo is from a recent work day. Check out Bike Works facebook pages for updates.We start off with Grant and I talking about the evolution of mountain biking with the Specialized Turbo Levo pedal assisted electric mountain bike. Grant explains that while you have to pedal to get pedal assisted with the Specialized Turbo Levo that is what really increases the fun factor for every level of rider. Emily shares her experience riding the Levo and how she was able to ride on terrain that would normally be to difficult for her level of riding. The Levo is a great equalizer so all levels of riders can ride together. Grant also talks about the Hawaii Cycling Club Sea to Stars road race presented by Bike Works which starts at Waikoloa Road and ends near the Visitor Information Center on Mauna Kea. The 46 mile race includes a climb of more than 9000 feet and registration and opportunity to volunteer is available at hawaiicyclingclub.com.
