Listen "Episode #40: The difference between Trauma Dumping & Venting. And continuing friendships through it all"
Episode Synopsis
NONE of this information is saying don’t share don’t tell others don’t feel this is for you to know the difference, have awareness, stand in the pain, process emotions, and Be open to solutions after expressing yourself. Be open to the other person sharing as well. You have to know yourself and know if you are looking for validation, support, advice, or reflection. BE BOLD TO ASK FOR IT before you begin to dump or vent.
From the research on the psychology of Trauma Dumping vs venting, I understand that trauma dumping can cause an experience of more pain. This pain leads to more emotional setbacks as well as the increase of the habit in the inability to self-reflect or bring responsibility or accountability to our story about the trauma.
The wildest part is when we are venting, we become more aware of what we are expressing our emotions and thoughts about the event or person we are venting about.
