Listen "Daniel Pauly"
Episode Synopsis
This is the third in an accidental series, and the 5th episode of this podcast. For our third episode, we welcomed Mike McDermid of OceanWise; the second featured Kurtis Hayne, Canada program director of the Marine Stewardship Council (MSC).Today, we are happy to welcome world-renowned Prof. Daniel Pauly to our podcast. He presents a different view of eco-labelling and consumer responsability that contrasts with those presented by Mike McDermid and Kurtis Hayne - since that became a larger part of the conversation between he and Tony, it made sense to feature that contrasting view here, to give a scope of the diversity of thought on the issue. He is the project leader of the Sea Around Us Project at the Institute for Fisheries and Oceans at the University of British Columbia. In February 2023, he was the co-recipient of the Tyler Prize for Environmental Acheivement. His groundbreaking work has informed fisheries sciences for decades and he has written several books and hundreds of academic papers.- Follow us on instagram @edibleocean_podcastFollow Prof. Tony on twitter @industrialdietThis podcast was made with support from the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada
