Mike and Alexandra make a classic New Orleans cocktail in anticipation of Mardi Gras, and then discuss various customs and traditions of Carnival, leading up to Lent, around the world. Topics include:

The Ramos Gin Fizz
2 oz. gin
½ oz. lime juice
½ oz. lemon juice
2 tsp. sugar
½ oz. cream
1 egg white
2 dashes orange flower water (or ½ tsp triplesec, or 3 drops vanilla extract)
Soda water to top off
Pour all ingredients except soda water into a shaker filled with ice and shake 80 times, or until your arms ache, and then strain into a glass with ice. Top with doa water.
