Purpose by Design is honored to introduce Irma Matos, co-author of Women of the Power Voice as well as Boss Your Lane, she owned her own business for 33 years and now resides as a consultant for the company. She is currently writing a book called A Noble Profession - Life Lessons to Inspire your Soul and Live in Abundance.
Irma moved from Cuba being born there to the United States and currently resides in Miami as she has for the last few decades. She credits a very special friend, teacher and mentor Jean for her being where she is today. Irma was very nervous to speak English but her teacher helped her confidence-build and now she speaks perfect English and is changing people’s lives. Irma says that teachers are one of the most needed and important professions but aren’t given enough recognition.
She is a child of God, who says she is a spiritual being having a human experience. She is also a real-estate investor and missionary. Irma talks about the goodness of the Lord and how he gave Irma a god-daughter on a mission trip.
Irma shares how she got to where she is now because of Jean and how that has turned around so Irma is now carrying Jean’s legacy and helping people with her story. She went from being a quiet, focused businesswoman to having a life-changing experience at a retreat serving women and doing missions and soon joined Jon Talarico’s Thinking Into Results.
She talks about service / serving is the most important to her. She invokes the Holy Spirit when she writes to ensure that she can help people with his message - not hers. She connected to vision which led to fulfillment, and now she is living her purpose. Irma encourages you to get uncomfortable as if you keep doing what you are doing nothing is going to change.
Irma encourages to be still, and listen to your still small voice. Years ago she was going to rent a townhouse, but the still-small voice said “Don’t rent to these particular people” – and she ended up doing so anyway and it was wrong. She paid attention after that you can bet!
