Listen "Breaking Bread"
Episode Synopsis
We live in a world where connectivity seems to be at its peak, thanks to the invention of the cell phone. Ironically, despite this hyper-connectivity, loneliness in the United States has reached epidemic levels. According to the Surgeon General advisory, loneliness and isolation significantly contribute to various health and mental illnesses, even leading to premature death. The church, unfortunately, is not immune to this problem. The tradition of communal gatherings outside of Sunday worship has largely faded away. In this sermon, we delve into how the early church utilized the table as a focal point for gathering and communing with one another. We are challenged to revitalize this practice by opening our homes and welcoming both believers and non-believers to our tables, without the self imposed pressure of doing it perfectly.Jason Conner (2.11.24) | Doxology Church | Acts 2:42-47
