Listen "Guest Speaker: Louis Alexander with Year 8 and Year 9 Student Panel"

Episode Synopsis

The school welcomed Louis Alexander as a guest speaker. The student panels did a wonderful job of interviewing and learning more about Louis’s charity work and adventures. Louis's story connected strongly to the school value of resilience, something he referenced throughout his talks and it definitely resonated with our learners.Articulate, authentic and driven by a sense of responsibility to honour his grandfather’s lifelong wish, Louis reinforced the importance of teamwork, finding our passions in life, and believing in ourselves before anyone else will believe in us. He shared engaging and exciting tales of being chased by wild dogs in Africa, swimming through thousands of jellyfish in the Black Sea and momentarily fearing for his life both on Mont Blanc and Antarctica. Louis’s talks served as a reminder that not all paths are straight and not all ‘jobs’ are conventional. If we believe in ourselves and our purpose enough, if we can acknowledge our fears and if we are willing to take some risks, we can achieve incredible things.
