From superhero movies to feature-length films animated films, computer graphics in movies advanced the movie industry by leaps and bounds. As visual effects became more integrated into movies and computer games, how to best capture a performer's face became a priority. School of Computer Science alumnus Kiran Bhat has been tackling this issue since his Ph.D. at CMU. Now, many years and one Academy Award later, he's working at Roblox, which acquired his startup Loom.ai.
